Adrienne Clair Receives EBA Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award

April 29, 2024

Thompson Coburn DC partner Adrienne Clair was named the recipient of the Energy Bar Association’s (EBA) Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award. The award is given to an EBA member who has shown unequivocal support of EBA’s Diversity and Inclusion program with sustained efforts toward the active promotion of diversity and inclusion within the Association and legal profession.

Adrienne received the award at the EBA Annual Meeting and Conference, hosted in Washington, D.C. The event also coincided with “Bring Your Son to Work Day,” which gave Adrienne the opportunity to be joined on stage by one of her sons, Jackson. Several Thompson Coburn colleagues also attended the awards ceremony to show support.

As noted in Adrienne’s nomination, “throughout her career and work with the EBA, she has successfully advocated for diversity and inclusion, leaving a lasting impact on the energy and legal sectors at large. Her advocacy work extends beyond committee involvement, exemplifying a genuine commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion at every level. Adrienne has demonstrated unwavering support for EBA's diversity and inclusion program through sustained efforts that actively promote diversity and inclusion within the Association and the legal profession. ”In addition to these efforts, Adrienne has organized an annual minority energy bar luncheon, which serves as a platform for fostering connections, sharing experiences, and promoting inclusivity within the energy bar. Furthermore, Adrienne has consistently served as a mentor and champion for diverse lawyers throughout her career, and her mentorship has inspired countless individuals to pursue and excel in the legal community. She actively advocates for the professional development, advancement, and retention of diverse individuals.

“Adrienne's long-term efforts have not only changed the face of our organization but have also resulted in the hiring and retention of diverse and inclusive officers and employees. Her leadership has been instrumental in fostering an environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives,” Thompson Coburn partner Matthew Rudolphi said in nominating her.

Adrienne noted that she was moved to see the growing number of diverse attorneys in the Energy Bar Association, particularly at a time when those values are coming under fire.

At Thompson Coburn, Adrienne represents clients in electric and natural gas pipeline matters, and counsels on compliance and enforcement. She serves on the Firm’s Management and Executive Committees.
