Associate Layla F. Husen has been selected as one of 16 participants in the 2025 U.S. Bank Spotlight on Talent program. The yearlong cohort experience focuses on relationship-building and the professional development of rising talent at some of the bank’s key law firm partners.
This year’s program kicked off in Minneapolis at U.S. Bank headquarters with networking, learning opportunities, and goal-setting activities with bank attorneys and other executive leaders.
“We continue to be impressed by the associates we meet through the Spotlight on Talent program,” said Jim Chosy, senior executive vice president and general counsel for U.S. Bank. “We look forward to meeting and working with the 2025 cohort with the goals of furthering their professional development through unique exposure to our company and the in-house practice and strengthening our relationships with key law firm partners.”
Throughout the year, cohort members will participate in leadership meetings, educational sessions, practice group roundtables, and social activities, and also work with a mentor and have the opportunity to make presentations to the U.S. Bank Law Division. Spotlight participants will strengthen their knowledge of the financial services industry and U.S. Bank’s business and develop relationships with Law Division professionals and cohort peers.
“I am so excited for this opportunity to build relationships with U.S. Bank attorneys and my peers at other firms across the United States,” said Layla. “To hear insight from members of the Law Division is invaluable and will help me better serve Thompson Coburn’s clients.”
Layla handles a wide variety of business litigation matters, including regulatory enforcement actions, government investigations, business disputes, and toxic tort defense. She recently played a large role in the high-profile release of wrongfully convicted Christopher Dunn, examining witnesses at the hearing and briefing issues to the Missouri Supreme Court.
Cohort participants have three to six years of experience and practice areas relevant to U.S. Bank’s legal needs.
The Spotlight on Talent program will conclude in fall 2025.
