Thompson Coburn partners Robert Shapiro and Tyler Black presented a Strafford CLE webinar on January 24 that covered the U.S. international trade policy approach that has led to a convergence between import, export, and sanction controls. With that convergence, skills traditionally developed for compliance in one area are now required in the others. They addressed key areas of convergence as well as the statutory and administrative regulations that led to this development. Also covered in the panel were considerations and pitfalls for practitioners and best practices for guiding clients through the complex international trade landscape.
