Thompson Coburn partner Matt Braunel has been appointed as a chair of the Intellectual Property & Biotech Law Committee of The Missouri Bar for the 2024-25 bar year.
He will co-chair the committee with former Thompson Coburn partner Robyn Ast-Gmoser, and their term will begin September 20. The committee is part of the bar’s Business/Corporate Division, which aims to provide assistance, professional development, and networking opportunities to lawyers across the state.
Matt is vice-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice and co-chair of the firm’s Artificial Intelligence practice. He also chairs the firm's Innovation Committee and AI Task Force. In those roles, he evaluates the firm’s use of AI to balance its advantages with concerns over the technology’s evolving use and expects the Intellectual Property and Biotech Law Committee to address AI issues in the upcoming year.
