Barry Weisz serves as a corporate strategist and outside general counsel to small- to mid-sized companies, as well as their principals, in a variety of industries.
For more than four decades and across a variety of industries, Barry has advised businesses from well-established companies to entrepreneurial start-ups in their industries on day-to-day matters, growth strategies and beyond. He has assisted with financings, contractual agreements, litigation, succession planning and horizon events; and, he has drafted purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, loan documents, license and distribution agreements and phantom equity plans, among many other corporate documents.
In particular, Barry finds negotiating mergers and acquisitions especially rewarding. They know the deals will close. When necessary, Barry is able to readily assemble a team to ensure all the elements are covered: tax, intellectual property, employment and environmental matters among them. In addition, Barry has been active in real estate transactions throughout his career, including purchase and sales, leases, 1031 exchanges and financing.
Active in his profession, Barry has taught business law at California State University, Northridge University and West Coast University. He has also served as judge pro tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court, the Beverly Hills Municipal Court and the Los Angeles Traffic Court. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but I’ll travel to anywhere, and the more remote the better. I’ve been on six different continents and more than 40 countries. Most importantly, I am blessed to have my children and grandchilden all living within a 10-minute drive of my home.
