Brian Lamping is a business litigator focusing in complex commercial litigation and internal compliance for defendants and plaintiffs across many industries.
As a commercial litigator, Brian’s extensive experience litigating business disputes involves breach of contract, fraud, unfair competition, trade secrets, and noncompete agreements. He also counsels companies being investigated by the government.
Brian’s substantial experience representing owners involves intra-corporate disputes, including shareholder litigation and close-corporation control matters. He litigates these matters in state and federal courts throughout Missouri, Illinois, and elsewhere, as well as in arbitration. Additionally, Brian’s work as an experienced appellate lawyer involves handling cases in numerous state and federal appellate courts.
Brian’s diverse practice also extends to construction clients, focusing on industry-specific, proactive, and cost-effective support. He handles preliminary contract negotiations between contractors and developers, establishing protections against defects in construction projects, and negotiating commercial leases.
When handling labor and employment disputes, Brian resolves highly sensitive scenarios, including allegations of discrimination and harassment, that negatively impact employer-employee relationships. He also helps employers enforce non-compete agreements and work through trade secret theft investigations.
In addition to his extensive business litigation experience, Brian works closely with the firm’s Health Care practice as an advisor to regional and national health care providers, including hospitals and health care systems. These highly regulated clients turn to him for advice on False Claims Act litigation, commercial and real estate litigation, internal investigations, and payor disputes.
