David Warfield skillfully leads the work on complex and high-profile bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, and business restructuring, unraveling the competing interests of all parties.

For more than 40 years, David has assisted debtors, senior secured lenders, bondholders, creditors’ committees, receivers and purchasers of assets from distressed companies by providing clear, practical and creative solutions. Because value erodes and options diminish quickly in a financial restructuring, David puts a premium on speed, quick thinking and persistence to preserve value and help clients plan for the future.

David’s greatest satisfaction comes when a client is able to overcome financial challenges and successfully reorganize. He has guided manufacturers, retailers, agricultural businesses (e.g., producers and agribusinesses), distributors, health care companies, and others to deal with their financial problems and emerge from bankruptcy.

He also believes that bankruptcy can be used strategically to deal with litigation claims. For instance, he represented a manufacturer dealing with claims arising out of its decades-old work in the asbestos industry. He also represented a company facing two nationwide class labor-related class actions.

Throughout his career, David has published dozens of articles and blog posts and spoken on a variety of bankruptcy and restructuring issues, cementing his role as a thought leader. His aim is always to keep clients and industry leaders abreast of the latest developments in law and best practices for overcoming emerging business challenges.
