Diona

Diona Rogers represents major national financial institutions and regional banks in commercial finance and secured transactions.

Diona has worked on complex loan transactions financing corporate and M&A activity throughout Chicago and across the U.S. and Canada. She assists in the documentation and closing of syndicated and bilateral secured and unsecured credit facilities.

Diona works closely with bankers on the legal and financial terms of proposed lending transactions, and she drafts and negotiates the resulting credit agreements, subordination agreements, and other loan documents. She also helps banks amend credit documents or respond to changes in a borrower’s status, including changes in collateral or corporate structure.

In this fast-paced industry, Diona manages multiple high-value deals while addressing specific client needs on each transaction. She speaks the language of her financial services clients and shares with them any legal issues she anticipates may impact a particular financing. They work collaboratively to resolve questions and pave the way for a successful transaction.

Before joining Thompson Coburn, Diona was a compliance associate at a Chicago trading firm and a corporate attorney representing clients in business and regulatory matters, including transactional matters, corporate governance, shareholder rights, operating and joint venture agreements, and private placements. In addition to her law degree, Diona holds an MBA, enabling her to apply a business-minded perspective to legal matters.

Within the firm, Diona serves as co-chair of the African American/Black affinity group.
