Kayla Siam brings a keen insight to assess corporate transactions from an analytical and economic perspective.

Clients look to Kayla to guide them through strategic transactions and to maintain corporate compliance with federal, state, and regional laws. Her experience spans all areas of corporate law, including mergers & acquisitions, establishing new business entities, nonprofit organizations, drafting commercial contracts, and guiding clients through their strategic growth. She also has experience drafting corporate and organizational documents such as operating agreements and bylaws, shareholder agreements, and stock and asset purchase agreements, among others.

Kayla’s corporate practice also has a strong focus on corporate transactions in higher education. She understands the nuances of how industry-specific rules and regulations impact corporate deals and contracts, such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Title IX, regional accreditation requirements, and more.

Kayla enjoys working with the talented attorneys at Thompson Coburn to help her clients reach their goals. She also engages in the firm’s African-American affinity group. Additionally, Kayla serves as a member of the Institutional Engagement and Excellence Council for Governors State University, as well as a member of the NextGen Leadership Council for the Chicago Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights.
