Shahed is an associate in the Firm's Labor & Employment practice group.
Shahed counsels clients in human resources issues and represents employers in a range of workplace issues and disputes in state court, federal court, and arbitration tribunals. Before joining Thompson Coburn, Shahed served as a litigation attorney at a Los Angeles law firm where she managed cases related to employment, securities and maritime.
A first-generation college student, Shahed received her B.S. from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Finance and a minor in International Business. During her undergraduate studies, Shahed interned for JusticeCorps, a division of AmeriCorps. After spending two years as a legal clerk at a litigation law firm in Chicago, Shahed attended law school and received her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
While in law school, Shahed was invited to join the St. Thomas More Honor Society, which recognizes students in the top 15% of their class. She also externed for the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California in their General Civil, Civil Appeals, and Civil Fraud Divisions. Additionally, Shahed had the opportunity to work as a judicial extern for the Honorable Diane M. Shelley in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division Section.
