Tim Briscoe helps clients achieve their goals in complex environmental disputes, lawsuits, and regulatory proceedings. His experience spans a broad spectrum of environmental laws, including those governing air emissions, water and wastewater discharges, public drinking water supplies, solid and hazardous waste management, land contamination and remediation, emergency response and reporting, and environmental permitting matters. Tim works with clients and subject-matter experts to clarify the legal issues, discover the facts, and develop technical evidence to craft compelling arguments, negotiating strategies, and long-term solutions.

Tim counsels and represents clients across a range of industries and at various stages of regulatory matters and legal disputes. He has guided clients in investigating and responding to government agency orders, requests for information, and notices of violation or other allegations of non-compliance. He drafts and negotiates settlement documents and consent orders, and when necessary, appeals agency actions through administrative and judicial processes. Tim has significant experience with proceedings before the Illinois Pollution Control Board, including petitions for adjusted standards and administrative litigation of enforcement actions.

Tim’s practice also covers rapidly evolving areas of environmental law, including issues concerning PFAS chemicals in air, water, and land media, as well as environmental justice and related permitting challenges. Whether collaborating with a client on the application of a specific regulation to an industrial process, or representing a client in a high-stakes environmental litigation matter, Tim works hard to resolve the issues and achieve the best possible outcome.
