Tina Bird has extensive experience on a national level representing major clients in business, construction and real estate. She has the necessary industry experience and tools to assist with the needs of her clients throughout the entire timeline of construction projects of all sizes.
She has negotiated multi-million dollar contracts and represented large developers as well as general contractors across the country. Her practice includes drafting and negotiating contracts; dispute resolutions; arbitration and mediation; corporate transactions; real estate litigation; claim preparation; project analysis and civil trials. Her clients include owners, builders, construction managers, designers, architects, suppliers, contractors and subcontractors in all aspects of their business transactions. She has been leader of a real estate and construction litigation team.
Tina received her B.A. from the University of Florida with highest honors and her J.D. from the University of Florida with honors, where she served as a Board Member and on Law Review.
Negotiated multi-million dollar contracts for the construction of the Zurich American headquarters, Trump Tower and McCormick Place expansion project.
Represented large developers in breach of contract claims including projects in Maryland and Florida.
Successfully prosecuted multi-million dollar contractor claim concerning construction of the Cleveland Browns stadium.
Represented large national developer in securing disputed zoning rights for construction of a multi-million dollar shopping center.
Defended a construction company against breach of warranty claims as to construction of a subdivision of single-family homes.
Represented and was successful on behalf of numerous subcontractors in asserting mechanic's lien claims on both public and private projects, and general contractors on private projects, including the preparation of the actual liens and the prosecution of the lien litigation.
Successfully appealed a trial court decision resulting in the creation of mechanic's lien rights for trucking and hauling of construction material.
Negotiated a multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of a municipality in a waste water treatment facility design defect case.
Co-author of three chapters in the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education: LEED in Construction, Construction Law Dispute, and Claims Against Sureties
