Tom Corbett provides legal counsel on all aspects of estate planning. His work includes estate, gift and generation-skipping tax issues, planning and implementation of trust and other sophisticated strategies for inter-generational transmission of wealth, estate and trust administration, tax controversy, estate and trust law and litigation, and non-judicial resolution of disputes.
Tom is sensitive to uniqueness of each situation and leans on decades of experience in the field of estate planning to address the issues faced by a diverse clientele. Clients count on him for comprehensive strategies that will help them preserve and transfer their wealth in a tax-efficient manner. A significant portion of Tom ‘s practice is in working with family businesses to develop practical strategies and solutions to the potentially devastating effect of federal estate taxes on the survival of the business.
A former IRS attorney himself, Tom regularly represents individuals and estates in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and represents beneficiaries and fiduciaries in litigation related to estate and trust administration.
