Thompson Coburn is among a select group of 25 law firms nationally that are consistently named by general counsel as firms they would recommend to their in-house peers.
The announcement is part of the 2016 Most Recommended Law Firms report, released this week by BTI Consulting, the country’s leading provider of strategic research to law firms and general counsel. For the annual report, BTI conducts in-depth phone interviews with corporate counsel at large organizations with $1 billion or more in revenue, and asks in-house attorneys to share their law firm recommendations, unprompted. Thompson Coburn is among the 25 law firms that have appeared among those recommendations for more than five years running.
The top 25 firms are those that — “out of the 650 core law firms serving large and Fortune 1000 clients — corporate counsel are willing to bet their reputation on and recommend to their peers,” according to the report.
As Michael Rynowecer, BTI’s president and founder, told Law360 in an article about the 2016 list, “If you look at these firms you’ll find very specific investments they have made to make sure they understand what their clients are thinking. These things make [the 25 law firms on the list] different from firms who are verbally committed to client service, but don’t actually put those programs in place."
