ACI Drug and Medical Device Litigation Conference

Thompson Coburn was a proud sponsor of the 28^th annual ACI Drug and Medical Device Litigation Conference held Dec. 5-6 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. John Galvin, Suzanne Galvin, Carl Pesce and retired Judge Booker Shaw represented the firm. The Galvins have attended the conference for 26 years.

Additionally, Judge Shaw participated as a panelist on the CLE session “Developing an ‘In the Trenches’ Approach to Battling Reptile Theory.” The panelists discussed:

• Strategies for combating “reptile theory” fear tactics from the earliest phases of litigation and diffusing plaintiff counsel attempts to use the approach
• Tactics for responding to plaintiff counsel questions aimed at rattling corporate witnesses
• Asking questions on redirect that combat reptile approach
• Creating your own evidence to be used in negotiations for deposition designations
