Misty represents companies facing litigation in high-risk venues across the Midwest.
Misty practices in the litigation group, with an emphasis on products liability, toxic torts, maritime, trucking and railroad litigation. She advocates for major railroads in FELA cases and other personal injury actions involving major trauma or fatalities at grade crossings. Misty has second-chaired multiple railroad trials in St. Clair County that have resulted in defense verdicts. She also plays a lead role in the drafting and research of strategic summary judgments, many of which have led to the dismissal of claims.
She also serves as national counsel for private equity firm American Industrial Partners' two printing press portfolio companies, helping secure 24 case dismissals and a favorable resolution on the largest of the 30+ cases for the equity firm.
Misty also represents manufacturing, shipping, and tobacco companies in class actions, general commercial litigation, personal injury and toxic tort actions, including those alleging asbestos exposure.
