Drawing upon her international commercial legal experience and diverse background, Yasmin is a trusted advisor who skillfully steers her clients through multifaceted legal matters. Her areas of focus encompass international trade and regulatory compliance, where she adeptly handles challenges such as import/export regulations, international sanctions, product classifications, and comprehensive due diligence assessments. Yasmin is known for her ability to provide practical and forward-thinking counsel, particularly in emerging areas of law, such as the intricate web of sanctions affecting Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. She also offers insightful guidance on navigating the complexities of Section 301 tariffs on imports from China, including exploring potential exclusions. Yasmin earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law. She also holds a master's degree in International and Comparative Legal Studies from SOAS University of London with an emphasis in International Commercial Law. During her tenure in London, Yasmin worked at the International Bar Association's Legal Research and Policy Unit where she provided ample legal research and analysis on matters ranging from multinational enterprises and the law to whistleblowing to sextortion worldwide.
Notably, Yasmin's passion for advocacy and her dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity shine through her involvement during her time at Saint Louis University School of Law. As a student leader and advocate for minority students, she co-founded the Middle Eastern and North African Law Student's Association, leaving an indelible mark on the institution and fostering an inclusive environment for her peers.
Yasmin served as a two-time Summer Associate. However, her journey towards becoming an integral part of the Thompson Coburn team began when she was the 2020-2021 recipient of the prestigious Thomas F. Eagleton Scholarship.
