Business Litigation Practice Group

Litigation Associate - Los Angeles

Thompson Coburn is seeking an associate with 4-6 years of experience to join its business litigation section in the Los Angeles office. We are seeking candidates with exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills in addition to a detail-oriented mindset. Candidates must have strong academic achievement and the ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Prior litigation experience in state and/or federal court in California is a requirement.

The salary range for this position in our Los Angeles office is $220,000-$280,000. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range based on relevant skills, training and other job-related factors. The range listed is just one part of Thompson Coburn’s total compensation and benefits package for associates, which includes productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.

Candidates must be licensed to practice in California.

Energy Practice Group

Energy Associate – Washington, D.C.

Thompson Coburn is seeking an Energy Attorney with 1-4 years of experience for its Washington, D.C. office. The candidate must be independent, a self-starter, energetic and possess strong writing and interpersonal skills. All candidates should have experience with FERC practice, knowledge of oil/natural gas pipeline regulation, and/or knowledge of the regulated energy markets, including ISO/RTO market stakeholder proceedings. The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients regarding energy and/or capacity market participation issues and power supply arrangements.

Candidates should be admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. This position is open to recruiters.

The salary range for this position in our Washington, D.C. office is $185,000 - $220,000. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range based on relevant skills, training and other job-related factors. Energy Attorney – Washington, D.C.

Thompson Coburn is seeking an Energy Attorney with a minimum of seven years of experience for its Washington, D.C. office. All candidates should have substantial experience with FERC practice, including FERC litigation and settlement, experience with and knowledge of the regulated energy markets, including ISO/RTO market stakeholder proceedings, background advising clients regarding energy and/or capacity market participation issues and power supply arrangements, excellent analytical and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to function independently and within a team environment. The ideal candidate also will be capable of taking on substantial roles in and responsibility for project management and be comfortable with client interaction.

Labor & Employment Practice Group

Labor and Employment Attorney – Dallas

Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with 4-6 years of employment litigation experience to join its Dallas office. The ideal candidate will have significant employment litigation and counseling experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Traditional labor expertise is preferred but not required. The Firm welcomes applicants who are self-starters, comfortable with client interaction and seeking career development and advancement opportunities. All candidates must currently be licensed to practice law in the Texas.

Tax Credits Practice Group

Commercial Finance Associate - St. Louis

Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the drafting, negotiation and closing of commercial lending transactions, with experience in issues involved in Article 9 secured transactions and intercreditor arrangements. Experience with tax-advantaged financing, various tax credits, real estate and/or mergers and acquisitions is preferred but not required. This attorney would work closely with a small group of partners who are highly motivated in training and investing in the right candidate for a long-term role within the group. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enjoys working hard (and being rewarded for doing so) and is not easily overwhelmed when faced with multiple demands on their time.

The practice is an active and diverse commercial finance practice with a focus on tax-credit subsidized equity and debt financings. Transactions are multi-faceted, often involving public/private partnerships with two or more sources of debt financings and multiple equity investors. The successful candidate will be an outgoing self-starter who can quickly take an active role in the documentation, management and closing of these transactions and will be expected to work closely with all transaction parties, including banks and other financial institutions, private equity firms, state and local governments, and their respective counsel.

Candidates should be licensed to practice in Missouri.
