Derek focuses on resolving complex business conflicts as a member of the Business Litigation practice.
Derek received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis where he developed a strong interest in appellate practice, oral advocacy, and legal research and writing. During his time as a student attorney in the Advanced Appellate Clinic, Derek was selected to present oral argument before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in Lamar v. Derek also participated in numerous moot court competitions including the annual Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition, in which he advanced to the semi-final round and earned both an Outstanding Speaker and Outstanding Brief award, and the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition, where his team's brief received third place. Derek completed his undergraduate studies at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO, earning a BA in Music and three minors in English, Marketing, and Music Technologies.
