Matt represents major agricultural companies in business-critical disputes. He represents clients in complex matters involving technology licensing, distribution channels, grain channeling, genetic testing, and patent infringement. Matt often handles "bet-the-business" disputes across every stage of litigation. Matt's experience includes representing clients in single-party, class-action, and multidistrict litigation agricultural disputes.
Matt counsels agricultural distribution companies, state check off groups, and global agribusiness leaders facing litigation as either plaintiffs or defendants. His work with agricultural companies spans across the United States and into other countries. Matt's personable demeanor complements his analytical approach to litigation. He excels at investigating individual or class claims and working on the ground with ag clients to successfully resolve disputes, often on a one-to-one basis. Matt resolves sophisticated disputes in state and federal courts as well as arbitrations. Matt's broad litigation experience also includes several years spent representing financial sector clients and other businesses in litigation at the state and federal level.
In addition to resolving disputes for clients, Matt frequently leads proactive in-house trainings for agribusiness professionals on best practices for analyzing and resolving liabilities in the field.
Matt fosters his appreciation for the agriculture industry through his passions for hunting, fishing, and spending time on his farm in Northern Missouri.
