About 170 women from the St. Louis business community joined 45 Thompson Coburn attorneys and senior staff for our 2013 Women’s Event. The event, sponsored by the Thompson Coburn Total Commitment Women’s Initiative, was held July 16 in the new East Building of the Saint Louis Art Museum, which opened just two weeks earlier. The modern 200,000-square-foot addition to the museum features 230 works of art, including 55 that have not been on view for at least two decades.
Attendees enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and strolled through the East Building’s 21 new galleries on private docent-led tours. They learned about selections from the museum’s impressive collection of postwar art, including works by Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Anne Truitt, and Andy Warhol. Equally important, the women also took advantage of numerous opportunities to network with their fellow professional women colleagues to advance their careers.
Attorney Crystal Kennedy spearheaded organization of the event.
