Thompson Coburn has been selected as a Top Workplace for 2014, as ranked by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and WorkplaceDynamics LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement.
“Our business is all about two things: clients and people. And as the largest law firm in St. Louis, we believe that one of the best ways we can serve our clients is by providing all of our people with an exceptional work environment,” said Thompson Coburn Chairman Tom Minogue. “That’s why we’ve built a work community where everyone, from top to bottom, feels appreciated and challenged, and discovers new opportunities for growth.”
The firm was ranked in the survey’s “Mid-size” category of companies with 150-499 employees.
Some of the anonymous comments submitted by employees commended Thompson Coburn for giving employees flexibility, autonomy and a challenging, energetic work environment.
“We take great pride in the fact that during the recent recession we did not lay off a single employee,” Minogue said. “We manage our finances carefully, prosper along with our clients, and share our profits with our employees through a 401(k) plan. We do all this to create a secure, supportive work environment that gives our employees the opportunity to flourish — as professionals and as people.”
WorkplaceDynamics bases its Top Workplaces rankings solely on employee feedback. Data is gathered through a 22-question survey that focuses on three critical elements of the workplace: organizational health, employee engagement and job satisfaction.
The Top Workplaces results were published June 29 in a special section of the Post-Dispatch.
