Thompson Coburn is proud to partner with the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners for its annual THRIVE Conference on Monday, Oct. 5 at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago.
The day-long conference is a dynamic workshop for enterprising women who aspire to greater levels of achievement. Attendees learn from, and network with, influential industry leaders and peers, and choose from nine informative seminars that focus on relevant topics essential to growth.
As an education co-sponsor, Thompson Coburn will present “Creating the Perfect Partnership: Strategies to protect yourself and your business.” In the session, partners Christina Berish and Susan Lorenc will address the potentially turbulent topics among business partners, such as salary decisions, pursuit of new business opportunities, who “owns” customers and ideas, how to fire a business partner, and the fiduciary duties owed among business partners. The session will also present tips on how to prevent heated issues from arising, including the proper documentation of employment agreements and corporate documents.
