U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers (by BL Rankings) have selected Thompson Coburn LLP as the law firm with the best copyright practice in the nation for 2016.
Only one law firm is chosen as the Copyright Law Firm of the Year for the first tier, the highest ranking based on U.S. News researcher interviews with clients and other lawyers. They look for the firm with the highest ratings for ability, professionalism and integrity.
Thompson Coburn Chairman Tom Minogue called the honor “a singular achievement that demonstrates our commitment to providing client-focused legal services at the highest level.”
The firm’s copyright lawyers provide counseling, litigation and lobbying services to a variety of media, corporate, professional, and technology clients.
On the counseling and legislative side, Thompson Coburn lawyers have drafted copyright legislation and helped steer it through Congress and into law, participated in negotiating and writing industry standards for copyright protection and use, and counseled clients on many copyright issues and policies.
On the litigation side, they have litigated copyright cases across the country involving books, articles, movies, music, computer software, photographs, art, architectural drawings, and other creative works.
Several Thompson Coburn copyright lawyers have also published on copyright in law reviews and professional publications, and two of them have taught copyright law as adjunct professors at major law schools.
