Thompson Coburn partner Emily Wang Murphy has been selected to co-chair the American Heart Association’s Lawyers Have Heart 10K Run & 5K Run & Fun Walk in 2018.
With over 6,000 runners and walkers, the event is one of the D.C. metro area’s largest 10Ks and is expected to raise more than $1 million to benefit the American Heart Association to further its mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
“This event brings the greater legal and corporate community together to save lives in our community and beyond,” Emily said. “The American Heart Association’s work impacts all of us with vital health education and guidelines, standardization of care in health systems and breakthroughs in medicine like the pacemaker. This cause is vital, and I look forward to seeing more people than ever at the starting line in 2018!”
Emily will co-chair the event with Eric Reicin, Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of MorganFranklin Consulting, LLC.
Emily is a partner in the Corporate and Securities group at Thompson Coburn. She assists executives and business owners with their day-to-day corporate matters, as well as their long-term business objectives. She has closed a variety of complex and strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; equity and debt financings; capital raises; and commercial financings.
Lawyers Have Heart takes place on June 9, 2018, at the Washington Harbour. For more information on the event, visit www.lawyershaveheartdc.org.
