Thompson Coburn is pleased to announce that Jennifer Visintine, partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property and Media Law practice groups, has been named a 2019 Up & Coming Lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Media. This honor recognizes early-career lawyers who demonstrate professional excellence while making a positive impact on their profession and communities.
Jennifer started as an associate at Thompson Coburn in 2004. She became a partner in 2014. Well-versed in a number of different industries, including cannabis, information technology, and manufacturing, she helps her clients protect their brands and other valuable intellectual property.
In addition to her career achievements, Jennifer is being recognized for her pro bono and community service efforts. In 2018, Jennifer was recognized by the International Trademark Association (INTA) for her work in the creation of INTA’s Pro Bono Clearinghouse, which matches eligible clients in need of trademark legal services with INTA members who will provide these services free of charge. The Clearinghouse is intended to serve low-income individuals and/or directors of nonprofit or charitable organizations with low operating budgets. Jennifer led the group responsible for developing the screening and intake process for potential clients. Since INTA introduced the clearinghouse last year, Jennifer has additionally volunteered to assist some of the initial clients in registering their marks. She now serves of INTA’s Internet Committee.
She has also provided pro bono services to Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts (VLAA), an organization that supports the creative community by providing free legal and accounting assistance and a wide variety of affordable educational programs. In 2015, Jennifer furthered her involvement with the organization by joining VLAA’s board.
Jennifer, alongside the other 50 Up & Coming winners, will be recognized at an awards luncheon on October 11 at the Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in St. Charles.
