Thompson Coburn partner Fatima Khan and counsel Martha Mendez-Fischer were among the 31 selected by Missouri Lawyers Media for its inaugural Missouri Immigration Law Power List. For this edition, the publication compiled a list of the most powerful immigration attorneys in Missouri and “examined lawyers who navigate this arcane system on behalf of individuals and clients, wading through thickets of H-1Bs and I-9s, making applications under DACA and VAWA and seeking a whole alphabet’s worth of visas. They maintain bilingual websites and often speak the languages of the clients they serve.”
Fatima serves a broad range of clients, from multinational corporations to religious institutions, as they seek to bring in talent from abroad. She helps corporate clients with I-9 matters and Department of Labor and Department of Homeland Security audits but also works with individuals applying for family-based sponsorships and naturalization.
Martha works in employment-based and family-based immigration, assisting clients throughout the process of obtaining visas, waivers and citizenship. Her corporate clients include universities, emerging growth companies and large multinational corporations.
