In a recent article for Inside Higher Ed, partner Aaron Lacey, chair of Thompson Coburn’s higher education practice, offers insights into the potential consolidation of the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) into the University of Arizona (UA). He highlights potential benefits such as improved governance practices and operational efficiencies.
Lacey suggests that integrating UAGC into UA could enhance the prestige of UAGC's degrees, aligning them with UA's reputation. However, he also notes the challenge of reconciling the different missions and academic performance levels between the two institutions.
