Thompson Coburn Los Angeles partner Rich Reinis was recently appointed to the California Fast Food Council (FFC) by Gov. Gavin Newsom. In an interview with
Law360, Rich shared how he envisions the council’s role in shaping California’s fast-food industry.
Rich discussed what he wants to see accomplished as a member of the Fast Food Council, whether the council focuses more on reforming the law or improving enforcement, what’s unique about this sectoral bargaining approach, and more.
“First and foremost, I think it’s important that we keep fast food affordable,” said Rich. “If it isn’t affordable, to a certain extent, the act is self-defeating. We have to have fast-food prices that are realistic for people who are on modest incomes… my focus is on: how can we assist in helping those covered by the act do that.”
