For more than 40 years, Don counseled clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate and commercial transactions. He has represented businesses from a diverse group of industries, including health care, maritime transportation, equipment leasing, direct marketing, internet-based services, photographic services, printing, quarries and various technology services.
In addition to his corporate practice, Don has substantial maritime finance experience, having represented lenders and lessors, shipbuilders, and both inland and offshore vessel owners and operators. He has represented barge lines in connection with the financing and refinancing of some of the country's largest fleets of inland boats and barges.
Don has served in a number of leadership positions within Thompson Coburn, including Practice Area Leader, Corporate Department Chair and Executive Partner of the Firm. He also has been active in civic matters, most notably as a Director and the President of FOCUS St. Louis.
