Matt serves as Thompson Coburn's Chief Financial Officer, managing all accounting, billing and tax work for a 425-attorney firm with nearly $250 million in revenue and 750 total employees.
Matt leads a business office composed of over 30 team members and consisting of highly experienced CPAs and degreed accountants who manage all of the Firm's accounting functions, including budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, taxes, payroll, billing and risk management. The Firm's business office plays an integral role in firm mergers and expansions, as well as the transition and successful integration of lateral attorneys and their clients. In addition, the Firm's financial professionals work closely with clients who have specific billing requirements, including submitting bills and legal budgets through eBilling vendors.
Before joining Thompson Coburn in 2018, Matt worked for more than a decade as a CPA and business consultant with RubinBrown LLP, one of the nation's leading accounting and professional consulting firms. As the former Partner-in-Charge of RubinBrown's Law Firm Services Group, Matt provided comprehensive assurance and consulting services to many of the region's largest law firms, including Thompson Coburn.
