Fatima Khan Selected for 2024-2025 Class of Leadership St. Louis

June 7, 2024

FOCUS St. Louis has announced that Thompson Coburn partner Fatima Khan has been selected for the 49th Leadership St. Louis program (LSL), a nine-month initiative for leaders committed to enhancing the St. Louis region.

This year's LSL class includes 60 participants representing area companies, schools and universities, nonprofits and government organizations. LSL is one of six leadership programs offered by FOCUS St. Louis to achieve its mission of educating and connecting leaders to collaborate towards a thriving St. Louis region. The LSL curriculum delves into various issues, including economic development, racial equity, education, criminal justice, health care, local government and more.

Fatima is a partner in the Firm’s Immigration practice and will join a diverse group of leaders in the program to gain a deeper understanding of St. Louis’ civic landscape.

Fatima has practiced exclusively in the area of immigration and nationality law for nearly two decades, helping employers in a broad range of sectors address the immigration status of foreign national employees, including I-9 compliance and the E-Verify program. In her representation of corporate clients on workplace compliance and due-diligence issues, Fatima assists with I-9 matters as well as audits conducted by the Department of Labor or the Department of Homeland Security. She also assists corporate clients involved in mergers and acquisitions to ensure that foreign employees involved in a corporate reorganization maintain their immigration status. Fatima is also dedicated to community service and serves on the boards of various bar associations and civic organizations in St. Louis.

Leadership St. Louis is designed to challenge participants’ thinking, expose them to new ideas and perspectives, and promote discussion, reflection, and action.
